NHS Fees
The NHS charges for dental work are based on three different treatment bands:
Band 1
£22.70
This includes an examination, diagnosis and advice. If necessary, it also includes X-rays, a scale and polish, plus planning for further treatment.
Band 2
£62.10
This includes all treatment covered by Band 1, plus additional treatment, such as fillings, root canal treatments and removal of teeth (extractions).
Band 3
£269.30
This includes all treatment covered by Bands 1 and 2, plus more complex procedures such as dentures.
You do not have to pay for NHS treatment if, when the treatment starts, you are:
- Aged under 18 under
- 18 and in full-time education
You also do not have to pay if, when the treatment starts, or when you are asked to pay:
You are included in an Income Support award of:
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Universal Credit
- Pension Credit
- Income-related Employment & Support Allowance
- You are named on a valid NHS Tax Credit Exemption Certificate (Card)
- You are named on a partial remission HC1 or HC2 Certificate.
OR
If you are entitled to reduced cost NHS Dental Service:
- You are named on a HC3 Certificate that is valid during the course of treatment which limits the amount to pay
